Once you’ve set up your Facebook ads account, you’ll want to set up some ad campaigns. Before you dive into this, it’s important to understand Facebook’s ad campaign structure. When you set up a new ad campaign, you’ll be asked to select an objective. An objective is the goal you’re hoping your campaign will accomplish. This includes things like app downloads, email sign ups, link clicks, page likes etc. Within each campaign are your ad sets. When you set up an ad set, you’ll be asked to select the audience that you want to send your ads to, your budget, and how long you want the campaign to run for. And within each ad sets are your actual adverts, where you decide exactly what it is that will be displayed on your ads (videos, photos, wording, links, etc). If you have five adverts within one ad set, they will all be displayed to the audience you chose for that ad set. If you want to target some more adverts at a different audience, you’ll want to set up a new ad set, and create some new adverts into that new ad set. It’s also possible to copy previously created adverts into this new ad set. Each of the three layers of your campaigns (the campaign, ad set, and ads) can easily be edited and adjusted to help you optimize the performance of your campaigns. You can tweak the audience, change the budget, stop poorly-performing ads, and much more. It’s well worth learning how to use Facebook’s ad structure correctly so that you can start achieving your ad objectives within a budget you can afford. Once...Read More
So you may be looking to gain more exposure and increase your reach on Facebook. One of the best ways to do this is to promote a post. This takes one of the posts you’ve published onto Facebook, and allows even more people to see it. To do this though, you need to at first have a certain number of people liking your page (Facebook says this is 100, but sometimes it’s less, sometimes it’s more). If you’re eligible, you’ll see a blue ‘Boost Post’ button on the bottom right of your Facebook post. First things first, post an update that you want to promote, then click ‘Boost Post’. You’ll see something like this: As you can see, there’s not much in the way of targeting here. So, to include more options select the ‘people you choose through targeting’ option, and you’ll see some more options to complete, such as the following: If you haven’t yet added your payment info, you’ll be promoted to do this. Click’ Boost Post’, and you’ll see a popup window saying the Facebook is reviewing your post. Click ‘Ok’. You’ll receive an email once the post has been approved. Best of...Read More
If you’re looking to reach more people on Twitter, setting up an ads account so you can promote your tweets and page to a much larger number of people is a sensible option to take. To do this, simply follow the following instructions: Disclaimer: Legally, I guess I have to write something like this: read all instructions on the Twitter pages carefully. I accept no responsibility for any information you enter correctly or incorrectly which incurs charges directly or indirectly to you Head over to https://ads.twitter.com/and sign into your Twitter account Select the country you’re operating from. This tells Twitter which currency to bill you in. In our case, this is the UK. Once done, click ‘Permanently save these settings’ The next page will give you a choice of two types of campaigns you can start. The first is ‘Gain More Followers’. This promotes your page to help you gain more followers. This option is usually less effective than the other option: to ‘Reach more people with your tweets’. What this second campaign does is display public tweets (which you select) to a larger number of people based on certain targeting filters you can select. I’m going to go with this second option for this post. Carefully go through all of the options on the next page, including how long you want the campaign to run, who you want the ads targeted at etc. Once you’ve got this all done and dusted, click ‘Save Campaign’, then click ‘Launch campaign’ if you’re happy with everything Depending on the country you’re signing up for, you may now be asked for some information...Read More
